Video everyone, video.
So for the last two weeks we have made a video. We had no idea what to take a video of at first but once the ideas started coming they wouldn't stop. I worked with my best buds Craig and Emma. We made an educational video about how to kick and mark a football. Our origial thinking was to show it to year 3 students to teach them how to do the skills. We got the skills from a Vicorian government motor skills resource. We did this so we knew exactly how to teach them. We had a lot of fun making the videos. The best bit what when Craig fell over!!! Yep Halarious television!! I believe that our video is going up on Youtube so i encourage you all to watch craig falling on his bottom. Editing the video was really frustrating at first because i did not kniow how to use windows movie maker. But after exploring everything on the program i really enjoyed it and i was glad about learning all about the program and how to edit a video.

Spreadsheets
G'day internet explorers,
Well Spreadsheets, they were a bit difficult werent they?? There are so many formulas to get right and then mail merging into word caused lots of problems. This howerer is a fantastic teaching tool, it will be very useful when i have my own classroom full of students. Once you have the formulas down it is a lot easier to use. Mail merging all the information into microsoft word is also a very useful thing to learn as you can use it for your report writing for each student. Using a spreadsheet for keeping marks and report writing was a great thing to learn.
Next is our video.. Gonna be awesome.

Comics in the classroom
Dear Bloggesphere!!
Today we learnt how to make a comic using Comic Life 2. I had never thought that a comic would be a good teaching tool in a Primary classoom but after today i have changed my opinion. They are a great way to get information to students in a fun and eye catching way. They are a lot more interesting to read, sometimes they even have a bit of humor. My comic was about how to grow a veggie patch. I think that it would be great in a classroom to have students create a comic with steps when doing a routine in class. I am definitly going to use a comics to make my lessons more creative and interesting.

Multimedia presentation
Well today has been another day in the computerology class here at Tabor. We learnt all about multimedia presentations and their positives and negatives. They are a great resource to use as a teacher when going through a topic and they are also a great way for students to hand up pieces of work. They are a great way to use 21st century technology and still get the students to hand up a meaty piece of work.
Today I made a Powerpoint presentation of the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly. I did this as though the unit was ending and the powerpoint was to refresh knowledge and to see what the students knew. The presentation had a mixture of information, questions, videos and pictures.
Powerpoints are a great resource for the classroom and can make learning more interesting rather than simply listening to a speaker.

7 things you should know about Blogs
After reading and learning about blogs and how they are used effectively in the classroom i think that they are a great way to help schools, students and the teacher share information. If blogs are set up correctly in the classroom it really helps students to be encouraged to share their views and read other peoples views and opinions. This should help students to become more critical thinkers. In a classroom i believe that it is very important that the teacher checks the blog regularly and views the comments before they appear on the blog so that no internet bullying is happening and all of the information is up to date. I am keen to use a blog in my classroom when i have one.

Podcasts week 3
Hello all Bloggers,
Thank you to my many fans who follow me every week, i am very lucky. Today we learnt about what a Podcast is. As Emma would say 'MIND BLOWN'! We looked at and listened to many different podcasts. It was great seeing what is out there. I am very excited to create my own podcast with my sidekicks Craig and Emma.

A brand new week
Good evening Bloggersphere!
TODAY in computers and technology we had a look at wiki's and how they are used in education. I realised that at my prac school the year 5 class are using a kind of wiki. They have their own 'about me' website and their peers and teachers can comment on their pages. WOW, this is crazy new age stuff. I now understand what a great teaching tool wiki's can be. They are a great way for everyone to join in on a topic and put their input in. We also began to use the E-portfolio on the moodle site. This is a bit challenging and confusing but i hope that it all works out in the end. I couldn't upload any photos, then i couldn't get rid of them. CRAZY!!! Anyway once i get the hang of it im sure its going to be super fun. Well thats all from me on this fine day. Keep your chins up fellow classmates. Good day!!
